HEALTH ASSIGNMENT

SUMMARY

Students will select a topic from the list below to investigate with a partner and present the information to the class. The topics are listed below and only one group may present on a topic. The presentations must include a power point presentation (8 slides minimum) and must be a minimum of 10 minutes and maximum of 20 minutes. There will be a video included in the presentation (1-3 minutes – see details below) and a class activity. Be creative with your presentation!!

  1. Introduction:
  • Introduce your topic
  • Outline the order your presentation will have

  1. Content:
  • Majority of presentation
  • Include definitions, signs, symptoms, treatment, examples, etc
  • Explain how this topic relates to teens
  • Video: 1-3 minutes in length. Video should support your topic
  • Class Activity: include the class in an activity that shows student’s understanding of the material they have been presented with

  1. Conclusion:
  • Summarize the key points of the presentation

ITEMS TO KEEP IN MIND FOR A SUCCESSFUL PRESENTATION


  • Do not read off of slides on power point or from notes. This is BORING!
  • Know the content enough that you have it memorized or only have to refer to cue cards for assistance
  • Include photos, testimonials, statistics, etc in your presentation
  • The presentation must have a balance of content and creativity
  • Try to involve the audience in some way
